July 23: Echoes of SENCOTEN 2026

July 23 @ 6:00 pm

Thursday, July 23, 2026 | 6 PM Sunset | Lime Kiln Point State Park | San Juan Island

Join us for an evening where the land, sea, language, and people come together.

Echoes of SENĆOŦEN is a community gathering celebrating the living language, songs, stories, and teachings of the W̱SÁNEĆ people in one of the most breathtaking places in the Salish Sea. As the sun sets over the Haro Strait, W̱SÁNEĆ Elders and families will share traditional songs, stories, and teachings that have echoed across these waters since time immemorial.

We are honored to welcome Maka Gallinger and ʻOhana (Hawaiʻi) for a special cultural exchange performance, celebrating the deep ocean connections between Hawaiʻi and the Salish Sea. Though separated by thousands of miles, our peoples share enduring traditions of canoe culture, respect for the ocean, and caring for future generations.

Bring your family and experience an evening of language, music, culture, and community in one of the most iconic places on STOLȻEȽ (San Juan Island).
