September 26 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
The Fall Great Islands Cleanup is happening Saturday, September 26, 2026. Join your friends and neighbors for a day of stewardship, taking care of island beaches and roadways.
We had a successful outer islands pickup earlier this week and are looking forward to gathering more litter this weekend. Are you in? Find details by island at: https://plasticfreesalishsea.org/…/fall-2026-great…/

San Juan County – September 26, 2026
Lopez Island:
Check in, choose a route, and pick up supplies from 10am to 11am at Lopez Village Park. (Limited supplies will also be available outside Southend Market, first come first served.) Then, drop off litter at the Dump for free from 12pm to 2pm! Follow signs to the designated drop-off area.
Questions? Email sarahr@lopezsolidwaste.org.
Registration required: If you’re on one of these islands and want to participate, please register ahead of time so we can plan.
What we’ll take: Litter picked up from beaches and roadways only. Please, no household or private trash, and no hazardous waste.
How to get ready: Bag small items. Big items can go unbagged.
Have something large? Give us a heads-up so we can plan for space. We may ask for a hand loading heavy pieces.
