SUMMARY:August 7: Walk & Talk: Dragonflies at Mottola Life Estate
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, August 7 |   10:30 – 12 noon | Free | meet at Lopez Village and carpool out to Mottola Life Estate | Lopez Island \n\n\n\n Registration required \n\n\n\nJoin us for a morning of exploring the life cycle and ecological significance of dragonflies. Once giants of the carboniferous period\, learn about how they have become the “canaries of the coal mine” when it comes to wetland health today. \n\n\n\nAbout the Mottola Life Estate\n\n\n\nThis nearly 11-acre private property is located just Southeast of Lopez Village. It is part of a 26-acre property that was short platted in the 1980’s. Prior to that it was undeveloped land. The pond on this property is part of a chain of man-made ponds and wetlands that begin on the properties to the east and drain to the west-southwest into Fisherman Bay. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n🥾 What to Bring: Weather-appropriate clothing\, sturdy footwear\, and a water bottle. \n\n\n\n📍Meeting Location: We will meet at Lopez Village and carpool out to Mottola Life Estate\, Lopez Island. \n\n\n\n⚠️ Important to Note:\n\n\n\nRegistration is limited to 20 people. All participants must sign an SJPT liability waiver (available in English or Español) as part of the registration process. \n\n\n\nSite Conditions: The south side of the property has an incline\, while the rest of the estate is relatively flat with level footing. We will be exploring around a pond and other areas that might lead to potential soggy sock situations.

SUMMARY:August 7: Acrobatic Conundrum
DESCRIPTION:August 7 | 7 pm | Lopez Center \n\n\n\nAugust 8 | 1 pm | Lopez Center \n\n\n\nSeattle’s circus company is back with the tenth installment of their quirky cabaret series\, spotlighting group synergy with aerial\, acrobatics\, and theatrical absurdity. \n\n\n\nTerry Crane and a band of nomadic circus performers take to the outdoor stage to present acts that will surprise\, delight\, and awe. \n\n\n\nIn a time of growing isolation and ill-ease about the future\, Conundrum invites you to join the circus for a theatrical ritual of renewal and hope. A half score of daring acrobats trip the light fantastic\, dancing horizontally\, stacking themselves precariously to the skies\, and spinning with eye popping velocity. \n\n\n\nAcrobatic Conundrum presents a cabaret exploring community\, interdependence\, and care. Through acrobatics and aerial movement the show asks a question at the heart of every community: who’s got me? \n\n\n\n For anyone who has ever wished\, quietly or loudly\, for someone to break their fall. Don’t miss the tenth installment of Acrobatic Conundrum’s ensemble cabaret this summer!  \n\n\n\nAppropriate for all ages. 60 minutes\, no intermission. \n\n\n\nFeaturing aerial (straps & fabric & rope)\, partner acrobatics\, slackrope\, handbalancing\, hula hoop manipulation & clownery.  \n\n\n\nPerformers: Terry Crane\, Lyla Goldman\, Clara Scudder-Davis\, Reece Matthews\, Lucky Dang\, Nick Lafleur.  \n\n\n\nDirector: Jaron Hollander \n\n\n\nhttps://www.acrobaticconundrum.com/current-showsMaia LeDouxMarketing Director  \n\n\n\nwww.acrobaticconundrum.com
